Over a week in June, I had the opportunity to spend a week with the Freedoms Foundation. In this session, you'll get an overview of the mission of the organization, my experience meeting a Medal of Honor recipient and the programs they have available for teachers. The Freedoms Foundation provides a unique experience for teachers, counselors, and administration to attend a seminar that fuses character, citizenship, and service into a model that will impact students in a positive way improving school culture and community.

Attendees will be introduced to Jennifer Serravallo's new book Writing Strategies and have an opportunity to participate in a gallery walk of her strategies and mentor texts. If you're looking for new ideas to supplement your writing curriculum or lessons for small groups of students that need additional instruction, you'll find what you need. Materials will be available to create anchor charts.
